Dedicated to the shoulders I stand on.
I began searching for my family history a couple of months ago after I came across some information that made me realize the gifts we get passed down through generations. I’ve gathered some documents and photos that will take you on an ongoing journey through my family tree.

The women of the Ward family are particularly significant. Above, I curated some photos of my grandma as a child and adult, her children, as well as my great grandmother (seen in newspaper document). The newspaper article titled “Wards celebrate 70 years of marriage“, tells us about the journey of Henry & Lena Ward who met in 1918 in North Carolina, and remained a married couple for the next 70 years of their lives. I am so grateful to have a piece of history that reveals the love that my great grandparents had for one another. It is that love that made this all possible. To know that two people spent 70 years in union and was considered enough to be documented makes me proud.

This 1932 Atlanta Daily World newspaper article features my granddad, Richard Logan (fathers side) working as journalist and printer. This photo was courtesy of Archive Atlanta, an independent researcher who kindly sent the document to my sister Tanzy Ward after she sent her his name. I never met or knew my grandfather, so discovering his journalism background was the initial reason I went on this search.

Above is my father, Ricardo, son of Richard Logan. This is a photo of my dad in his Turner High School graduation picture. On the right-hand side above the picture you see my father as an infant. I am unsure how old he is there.
