Nakyia, pronounced na-kai-ya (b. 1998, Atlanta, GA) is a poet and journalist. The Black Renaissance Blog was birthed in 2016 when Nakyia began to publish her college essays inspired by her freshman english and theater professor who suggested she start a blog. TBR is a literary blog examining the intricacies of popular Black culture and subcultures both historical and present day.
